Victoria Peak gives the definitive panaorama of a city of habour
and hills, towering office buildings and picture-perfect islands. The
funicular Peak Tram has been operating since 1888 and climbs at a
seemingly impossible angle up to tranquility, cooler climes and
luxurious residences. To stroll Harlech and Lugard Roads is to look
down trhough the panoply of banyan trees at black-eared kites
soaring above skyscrapers, the western harbour approaches and the
outlying islands dotted in the South China Sea. Relax alfresco in
the Peak Cafe, once, a sedan chair terminus, now a chic, colonial-style
restaurant. Or visit the shops and restaurants in the new Peak Tower,
or the adjacent Peak Galleria.
